This is the first car I ever owned and I still have it. After looking at
over 25 ’55 Chevys from Florida to North Carolina to Tennessee, I
found this one less than 15 miles from our house in Florida. The car has
4-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and originally had a powerhouse 350
motor backed by a Turbo 350 transmission.
A couple of years ago I, brought the car up to North Carolina and my father
in law graciously volunteered to build a new 350 motor backed by a Muncie
M21 4 speed. He really outdid himself in rebuilding this car. It sat for
about 12 years before we started working on it. I wanted to keep everything
as close to the way it was when I drove it in high school. The 350 has
The motor has approx 400 horsepower. The rear end was narrowed and a set
of 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust II rims replaced the old Crager mags.
The car still sports the original paint I had in high school.
Future plans include getting it repainted and restoring the interior.
